QUESTIONS NO OTHER BOOKS SEEM TO ADDRESS
Who read these Apocrypha to illiterate Jews so that they would know all the things it is claimed they knew—and where was that done, and why, if they were not being read as Scripture during religious services?
Why would the Gospel to the Jews be far more focused on Apocrypha than the other Gospels?[1]
Why is the Epistle with the greatest focus on Apocrypha either the Epistle to the Hebrews (Wisdom), or the Epistle of James the Brother of the Lord (Sirach), or the Epistle of Jude the (possible) Brother of Lord (1 Enoch)?
Collectively, those are the two books most devoted to Jewish thoughts and concerns, plus the two books written by possible family members of Jesus. Of the 27 Book New Testament, why would those four books be the ones most focused on Apocrypha (that claim to be Scripture, but allegedly are not)?
What reason is there for the Book of Wisdom (which says it is Scripture) to be referenced more than any comparable canonical Book (per the KJV)—by Evangelists who allegedly did not see it as Divinely inspired?
Is there any other explanation for Jude quoting 1 Enoch that holds up to honest scrutiny?
Why would the Divinely inspired Evangelists incorporate wording from Apocrypha (many of which claim to be Scripture) into hymns and creeds, when canonical Scripture could have been incorporated instead?
Why would Jesus repeatedly allude to Apocrypha (many of which claim to be Divinely inspired Scripture) to prove His divinity if they were not accepted as authentic Scripture by His audience?
From the Jews, to Jesus, to John, to Polycarp, to Irenaeus: who introduced Baruch into Christianity? Why? Why was there no protest?
Why should we continue to trust the early Church, let alone Irenaeus, to identify authentic Apostolic teaching?
What specifically is the error that leads the Jews to wrongly reject the claim that their canon was settled at 22 books at the time of Christ?
Who first excludes Susanna, and who first put Baruch in a third category?
[1] I drop the “seems to refer” wording for this list because I had these question when reading Protestant Bible commentaries: they did not address this when their own work shows it.
